Wow. Rituals give form to overwhelming emotion. Form makes the feelings manageable. #Grateful to understand the science. #Grateful to be able to honour the humanity. https://t.co/0x46hb1KNT

@katesilverton @TheSun @BBCPanorama It was BRILLIANT! 👏🏽

That wd hv allowed broader exploration. In the end, she got 30mins. Lots of footage got ditched. She worked for a year to bring even that to the screens. That's celebratory. You could write to @BBCPanorama team and ask for more?

🙌🏻 what a good idea @suzannezeedyk all the material is there 😉 https://t.co/02K4eUqS04

Reminder of where to find the a ELC school guidance on nurture (click top corner for each of the 6 principals). This relational approach featured in last nights excellent doc by @katesilverton and is essential for recovery and reconnection https://t.co/h9rGAKOXBj

Well done Kate on shinning a light on what more needs to be done in order to be the safest country in the world! One victim is one too many. #Prevention https://t.co/x7uiv56emo

@garethkthomas @katesilverton @suzannezeedyk Me too, Gareth. I taught for many years in Glasgow comprehensive schools. So many young people deal with very difficult situations before they even leave the house in the morning. The last thing they need is punishment when they have made a huge effort to get themselves to school

@BrownOpal58 @suzannezeedyk @katesilverton @TraceyB03959010 @SarahBurrows100 Progression to offending is not inevitable if they have the support they need. Identification needs to be to ‘give’ rather than to ‘get’

Agreed. This is a point so often missed more broadly when talking about ACES & trauma: “Progression” to a range of difficult outcomes is not inevitable for children. Having stable trustworthy relationships makes the key difference. Some safety somewhere changes everything. https://t.co/3jhBJISXIw

"The question I want to explore w/ you today is: What kind of people do we have to be so that children don't get lost in their lives?" POWERFUL. I've recommended this to @children1st as a folllow-up to our Kinship Carer Conversations. @margl43 https://t.co/YQLw9ZSSV4

Our next #TigersAndTeddies Live! takes place Sat 25July, when we'll be hearing frm @paulinescott222 & members of t @lullabynursery team how they are approachng EARLY YEARS AFTER LOCKDOWN. Lots of practical ideas on how to create connection on offer. https://t.co/0uxnWX7QXH

And yes not even 30 mins for a programme .. more like 26... still not sure how we got so much in but that was our challenge... so much more to be said and so many people who contributed but sadly for time reasons were not in

For everyone who is asking me why last night's @BBCPanorama wasn't longer.... Here is @katesilverton explanation. She filmed lots of other footage. So do take action....Write to Panorama and tell them you'd like more. https://t.co/r5mDTvUOb2

A brief THREAD followng on from @katesilverton #BBCPanorama about how Scotland is creating a trauma-informed public. Here are insightful videos that were made as part of the @ACEAwareNation Confs in 2018 & 2019, led by @TIGERS_UK, @connectedbaby & @garywrobinson. @paulinescott222

@lynnsweefire @suzannezeedyk @FireScot_Chief Lynn I worked with the fire service in Fife to support a young fire starter who had experienced trauma as a youth. I cannot say enough about how brilliant and responsive they were to this yp's needs.

THIS Is what a trauma-informed Fire Service looks like. Making sure FIFE Fire Services see they have been praised. @Scotfire_Fife Also @fire_scot https://t.co/Z3jBQopE1T

@WATCthechildren Life experiences from conception to age 3 shape a child's life out of all proportion to the rest of childhood. To sustain violence reduction requires long term investment to promote secure infant/parent attachment and stable family life. https://t.co/n2tqupvrMq https://t.co/Gd6miNEoKn

@suzannezeedyk @katesilverton @karynmccluskey I think this is why Public Health bodies need to boldly take the lead - broaden the conversation, awareness raise, educate, intervene when needed and ultimately prevent. Police led keeps it crime-focused and narrow in outlook. All credit to the police service in Scotland.

The last year has indeed been a #DaringVenture w/ the whole @TIGERS_UK Team. 7 concepts of self-development explored. This feedback shows its value: "This was an amazing opportunity. Highly beneficial to me in all aspects of my life. I have gained so much personally." https://t.co/SGzFIojm2b
