A Belgium journalist who helped expose a pro-Huawei influence campaign says he had his account frozen after he was reported to Twitter by someone clearly unhappy with his work. Shows how tools used to report harassment on social media sites can be co-opted to silence critics. https://t.co/yGP3KfkoG9

😎 https://t.co/hYsTBjQ9HE https://t.co/Or5ANQKVv6

Facing pressure from the Turkish government, Facebook agreed to block posts of a mostly Kurdish militia rather than risk being shut down in the country. "I am fine with this," Sheryl Sandberg said in one of the emails obtained by @propublica. https://t.co/xWwCUQoWyr

For weeks, the public messages about vaccines have been more negative than the facts warrant. Now we are seeing the cost: A large percentage of Americans wouldn't take a vaccine if offered one. 🧵...

A day after Facebook cut off news in Australia, what remains? Pages for aliens and UFOs; “Say No to Vaccines” group; and conspiracies linking 5G to infertility and others spreading lies about Bill Gates and the end of the world. By @damiencave https://t.co/RGYdAmmzW0

Once a bonafide star of the NY fashion scene, Alexander Wang now stands at a crossroads after a number of people accused him of sexual misconduct. Today, another person comes forward and speaks on the record in the @nytimes: https://t.co/zaSp1FnMbO

Big moment in the long-running tussle between media and tech companies. News Corp. and Google make nice with a three-year deal that includes outlets in the U.S. (WSJ/NY Post), UK and Australia. https://t.co/0uBBF7U3Tj

A privilege of working at NYT is to be a colleague of @CadeMetz - as diligent, thorough and fair a reporter as you will find. This important story about a certain Silicon Valley worldview demonstrates that, despite the immense abuse he took reporting it. https://t.co/evFlSsmnYw

Everybody wants a piece. First it was France and the E.U., then it was Australia, and now it's cash-strapped states like Maryland looking to tax the biggest tech companies to help cover growing government costs. By @dmccabe https://t.co/8uYMmPS77N

What you hear in the long line for an oxygen tank refill in Mexico: “My father is at 60 percent oxygen saturation. My brother is at 50 percent saturation. My wife can no longer breathe. She’s turning blue, her lips are blue, help me.” https://t.co/knVs4lFagJ

NEW: More than 33 million U.S. households are eligible for a program to help low-income Americans pay phone and internet bills. Few actually get it. Why? Subpar service and years of government mismanagement and neglect. Here's the story of Lifeline: https://t.co/2HzYdBf3ok

When I met @Nina_EBanks two years ago she told me about some research she was working on to make unpaid work by Black women in their communities more economically visible. I’ve been excited about it ever since. Read about it here: https://t.co/TAWOrkkEi2 (1/4)

Someone here once asked me how tall I am. I said 5-foot-10. Someone else then said that no man is 5-foot-10. Anyone who says he's 5-foot-10 is, in fact, 5-foot-9. It's the 13th floor of heights. You're either 5-foot-9 or 5-foot-11. He was adamant. I think about that all the time.
