Really looking forward to @LabourHousing conference next week - with @RNBlake @AnnelieseDodds @ThangamMP and ors- I’ll be looking at how the Govts planning reforms will affect housing supply and our town centres and what a Labour approach might look like https://t.co/eNr21TUO5S

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a trailblazer. She was an icon. And to me, she was a role model and a friend. May her memory be a blessing. https://t.co/g3B2ZBD2nl

Short thread on solidarity - been thinking about the weekly clap & as much as it was an expression of thanks to NHS, care workers & others it was also about communal solidarity - feeling connected with our families and neighbours that we were navigating this challenge together

What Germany teaches the world in a crisis. I found this article fascinating. When Germany received 1m refugees more than half the adult popn got involved in one way or another to help refugees. Thats Wilkommenskultur in action ! https://t.co/0Lfq1H6sei

Shameless. At a time when there are real challenges with regional inequality and massive economic insecurity and neglect of our towns this sort of thing undermines trust that the Govt cares about the national interest. https://t.co/PbW9d8s9yh

Excellent thread definitively proving that the government directed public money towards Con held towns rather than to the places most in need. Fact is that even after GE2019 the Cons do *not* hold the most deprived areas in the UK - out of the 20 areas with the highest child... https://t.co/Vo4E7FnkFJ

Excellent thread on Govt pork barrel politics. Ignoring civil servants advice and evidence on towns most in need of public money and instead diverting funds to Tory areas to maximise electoral advantage. Check this out @natandoron @ajsdews https://t.co/m3FbFT8Rjb

Stirring stuff. This is the leadership the country needs https://t.co/Z5SUzuFGs8

This makes good social and economic sense in the current climate from every conceivable direction.

Sadly I'd give it pretty much 0/10 chance of being adopted

🚨 RT! With rates of domestic violence and harassment soaring in lockdown, it’s our moment to be heard- after two years of campaigning the law commission today published their consultation on how to include misogyny in our hate crime laws. 1/2#mymisogynystory https://t.co/MZGayuZ9x5

Quite good this. Radical ideas include 1) winning's better than losing 2) you might want to address the questions the country is asking now, not the ones you cared about two decades back. An unusual combination of blindingly obvious and well worth saying

‘Never again will Labour go into an election not being trusted on national security, with your job, with your community, and with your money. That's what being under new leadership means’ WHEW. #Lab2020

Great speech by @Keir_Starmer Keir proves he’s in touch with what working families want - a chance to get on in life, a decent job and a guarantee that hard work pays. #LabourConnected

Themes of family, patriotism, service, security together with a clear commitment to tackle the climate emergency and structural racial inequalities were spot on. This is the leadership the country badly needs right now

He didnt duck the harsh truths about the scale of Labour's election defeat and its woeful failures over anti-semitism. But he also took the fight to a feckless PM and cabinet of incompetence by contrasting within his own commitment and value-driven leadership

Superb speech from @Keir_Starmer today. Putting the stamp of his new leadership on the Labour Party. Big themes with universal appeal, speaking to the whole of the Uk and looking to the future
