Dear Lebanese people, NGOs or anyone in Lebanon receiving money as donation from abroad. Many are considering sending you #Bitcoin but you're not sure how to liquidate it into paper money. Here's a thread explaining the mechanism and the channels you could use👇

The thesis for #gold in today’s economy is inherently pessimistic & dependent on the legacy financial system collapsing The thesis for #bitcoin is optimistic & not dependent on the legacy financial system collapsing to be valuable Our future is exciting not sad.

It always amazes me how many people there are who never seem to understand that what they have done has contributed to the consequences that followed.

Peer to peer transactions can happen by meeting the buyer/seller face to face or by sending them/you money through OMT, BOB and other money transferring mediums. The latter is only advised if you really trust the trader (many are and approved by the #Bitcoin community in Lebanon)

Bitcoin is banned by banks in Lebanon, meaning you cant use conventional crypto trading platforms like binance, coinbase or any other to exchange bitcoin for $ into your bank account. We are only left with peer to peer transactions. You can exchange your BTC for LBP and $.

This is the brazen shamelessness and incompetence of the dumb thief who married the senile president's daughter & was in control of a majority of Lebanese state institutions as the country descended into unimaginable darkness, destitution, and destruction

The oil and gas industry is packed with mom and pop shops, entrepreneurs and hard working people competing honestly to get ahead. #BitcoinStandard The renewables industry is primarily just government subsidized mega-corps lobbying dishonestly. #FistStandard

@lawrencekingyo @Blagosklonny - he's written more and had deeper insights into aging than any other scientist and shares his knowledge on Twitter @saifedean - no holds barred look at the real drivers of economics and politics, and how governments screw up everything.

Imagine a president overseeing: -hyperinflation -collapse of the electricity grid run by his son-in-law who profits immensely from it -popular uprising -destruction of the capital city due to negligence of political appointees ...and not even consider resigning.

Whatever sparked the fire is unknown, but what caused it to explode so massively is clearly the 2,700 tons of ammonium nitrate the Lebanese government has failed to deal with for 6 years.

@saifedean We often talk about high time preference as higher present consumption, but it's also about pushing costs out into the future, procrastinating until a tragedy occurs.
