The extent of Covid-19 deaths in New York nursing homes has become the center of a political firestorm. Today’s episode of The Daily tells Lorry Sullivan’s story. Her mother was one of almost 70 residents in her nursing home who died of the coronavirus. https://t.co/rLC8FSJJMa

@nytimes Trump and Cuomo decided ignoring the problem was the best solution and people died because of it.

@nytimes Politicians should be personally liable in civil and criminal court for their decisions instead of experiencing basically no accountability except in the court of public opinion.

@nytimes Covid is a tragedy PERIOD. This was a failure at the FEDERAL level to address the crisis with one unified response. These reporters should speak to healthcare workers and facilities to see what the options were for them for where to release these patients. FED GOVT fucked it up.

@nytimes My heart goes out to her family. The covid in the nursing homes is a sign of breakdown in protocols. Were the caregivers being tested? Were sick caregivers being forced to work because they couldn't miss a day? Were ppe equipment available to caregivers?
