Well, this is nice to wake up to, this lovely am. Congrats to the other finalists! https://t.co/uL5qjhroLD

"let him listen to audiobooks all day," we said, "what's the harm," but now we have a 4yo who says his sweet potatoes are "suspicious" and "too violent in his mouth"

having been told that it's rude to call dinner "gross," our 4yo is finding increasingly creative ways to express himself "this tastes.......unlucky to me" "this sends my mouth into outer space. (that's bad)" "cauliflower is"--[pinches fingers together]--"this much delicious"

"These vaccines are, pardon my French, damn good vaccines." To promote awareness about the #COVID19 vaccine, Rep. @CoriBush and Dr. @CamaraJones have an open dialogue about public health and the Black community. Watch their full conversation here: https://t.co/U9ExI2wV4C https://t.co/uWcAXyWvGY

"Love doesn't just sit there, like a stone; it has to be made, like bread, remade all the time, made new."

Best confession of the riot: Lawyer reports on Facebook that, "The first of us who got upstairs kicked in Nancy Pelosi’s office door and pushed down the hall towards her inner sanctum, the mob howling with rage" & ready to see her "torn into pieces" https://t.co/D7s7DgQUvI

Lmao imagine thinking it was a good idea to confess your murderous intent in prose this purple https://t.co/5R3YJLbDBd

Oregon Dept of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI) is facing potentially major budget cuts. Reportedly threatens elimination of up to 75% (!?) of their technical positions. https://t.co/Q7bRtu4Qw0

Uh, Oregon? You’re going to have serious problems if you reduce your public service geo staff down to 5 PEOPLE. You’re PNW. Your rocks are not calm and boring. https://t.co/Lm7ZXJT8d6

::checks off new box on my "Are you a curmudgeon yet?" worksheet:: Almost there...!!

Maybe I'm oversensitive, but I feel the same way about required sig on delivery that I do about "return receipt" on emails/texts: they're a demand for something I don't owe. And I'm not gonna rearrange my schedule to receive a book I didn't ask for.

FYI: I'm not doing blurbs right now. I'm barely reading books; 2020 ate that part of me. Working on growing it back, but til then, please publicists, do not send me unsolicited books. Especially don't send them to me with required signature on delivery. I will send them back.

The opposition expresses no desire to unite. So what is the discussion, really?

I don't share the desire that others have in unifying w/ those who've shown they want to kill us. At some point I think we need to examine how much the fixation w/ unifying w/ white supremacists & convincing them to love us is rooted in oppression & the centering of whiteness.

Just an observation about the media: We’ve gotten dozens of request from political reporters asking to be connected with veterans who became right-wing extremists. But we’ve gotten zero interest in the perspective of POC troops who had to cope with extremists in their units.

FYI for those of you who've been holding off on getting FAR SECTOR: there's a release date for the compilation! Not 'til October, tho, so if you hate waiting, you can still get back issues from many comic shops by mail & online! https://t.co/Wyqz17zrHk

The de facto supermajority threshold was first forged against civil rights. Jim Crow-era segregationist senators repurposed a 1917 Senate rule to force every civil rights bill to clear a supermajority threshold, blocking them all. Only civil rights bills were blocked in this way. https://t.co/0Op6pDfWEL

Watch this film. Seditious insurrectionists PRAY in the senate chamber saying they are there in the name of Christ and giving praise to God for guiding the police to LET THEM IN. White supremacy and Christian nationalism fully linked. Slaveholding religion https://t.co/CivDqxiyNr

Christian friends, please don’t play the “not real Christians” card here. Reckon w/how Christianity is used to justify this, justified slavery, the Inquisition, the Crusades, the Holocaust, colonialism. Take responsibility for your tradition’s harms & yr privilege today. 1/x https://t.co/J5apUujbdn

BREAKING: In new letter, 135 civil and human rights groups OPPOSE creation of a new domestic terrorism charge. Be clear: DOJ already has more than 50 federal statutes it can use to investigate & prosecute individuals who participated in the insurrection. https://t.co/JzuEvGwPJl https://t.co/514rtheUlo

To expand the government's national security powers once again at the expense of the human and civil rights of the American people would only serve to further undermine our democracy, not protect it. https://t.co/Fo1MmkcvBL
