If I get lucky, I'll live through 4 more election cycles and I'm excited about the possibility of what we can accomplish. We must continue expanding our vision of what the future can look like. It's going to be interesting to see.

Change is always determined by how people at the bottom move, and what people at the middle and at the top are willing to accept. But something is happening. The question is do we pay attention for a little while and then go back?

Maybe our country that has demonized poor people both at home and abroad will finally recognize how much emotional, and psychological pain it has caused, and, given all that we've been through, will work to repair and make a better country and a better world.

Today on Inauguration day I'm feeling optimistic. At 75 years old I'm concerned about the situation of our country and of the world. It is a good day, an important day, and the question is what do we do with it?
