Mutual aid groups have been sustaining operations during the economic crisis for 6 months. Delivering groceries and offering support to thousands of residents. Now, they're working to figure out how to sustain that and do more. https://t.co/fWKk4HhKRr

Important article to read, by my colleague @jennygathright. https://t.co/FArdeYPgn6

One of the coolest things in D.C.'s newly renovated central library... https://t.co/ULuOqnKSC3 https://t.co/PtSZW0XRzV

Pro: I've gotten a lot better at taking short breaks to go up and down the stairs throughout the workday. Con: It is always for snacks.

Like most theaters in D.C., Arena Stage is still closed due to COVID. Instead of making live theater, it's switched to making movies. Its newest project is about D.C. statehood, and it's available now to stream for free. https://t.co/tcVfWErJpM

“[@wamu885] leadership tried to fire Di Caro as early as 2016, but were overruled by the university’s legal and human resources departments.” @AmericanU, this deserves a better explanation than what we’ve heard from you so far. Ready when you are... https://t.co/2kC4OdreHk

We’ve got lots of cool #DCstatehood content coming soon...including, of course, the new season of What’s With Washington. Have you listened to the trailer yet? https://t.co/vI3tt9gqJx https://t.co/x5yJYYJldx

People who are homeless or transient may not know they qualify for the $1,200 Economic Impact Payments (EIP) — also called “stimulus checks" — that went out last Spring. You can help people experiencing homelessness get a stimulus check. Here’s how. (h/t @AllisonLefrak) https://t.co/zugwaJr3Tk

I looked at clogs ONE TIME on @zappos. Now sites I once loved like @washingtonpost have transformed into a clogs-ridden hellscape. Someone help me escape this. https://t.co/KV8Nef3chN

The Kennedy Center just announced it's hosting its first in-person live performance since March. On Sept. 26, an invited audience of 40 people will get to watch singers Renée Fleming and Vanessa Williams perform. The @kencen concert will also be live-streamed.

Some of the surprising things we miss: Wolf Trap traffic, croissant crumbs in the car, the H2 bus, friends-of-friends, karaoke, and kickball players taking up all the field space on the National Mall (that last one's me, of course). https://t.co/5wZDbtoLoo

Tow truck just arrived for the driver’s Nissan. Police say they haven’t found him since he ran off after the crash. Site of crash is very close to Rock Creek woods.

At the site of an accident in Mount Pleasant. Driver hit two adults and two children who have been transported to a hospital. Police officer tells me the driver ran away and hasn’t been apprehended yet. You can see stroller parts in the photo. https://t.co/q3K61DEzeY

Tribune has just informed staff of @virginianpilot and @Daily_Press that it's permanently closing the @Daily_Press office in Newport News. The company has already closed the @virginianpilot office in Norfolk.

Sad news. I know we can't go into our offices right now anyway, but this spells trouble for young journalists in the future. I learned SO much early on just by sitting in newsrooms and hearing my colleagues conduct phone interviews, talk to sources, etc. https://t.co/nH47LIMNcc

A new philanthropic fund in D.C. is doing something many gov't safety net programs don't. It's giving cash to low-income families, no strings attached. Here's why the program's nonprofit partners call cash the most efficient form of relief right now: https://t.co/Pr6RY8ZYff

Free timed-entry passes are needed at all the museums except the @RenwickGallery because “it can accommodate safe crowd management and social distancing for the number of visitors permitted at one time.” Groups larger than 6 are prohibited at all the newly reopening museums.

JUST IN: This Friday, 9/18, the @smithsonian will reopen 4 more museums: the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Renwick, the National Portrait Gallery and the American Art Museum.
