Black people matter & their lives have value. ^^That statement isn't Marxist. If your *starting place* in the race convo is criticism of specific tenets of BLM(TM), you're either missing the forest for the trees or you're hiding the fact that you don't believe it's true.

Many Christians will vote for Trump. Many Christians will vote for Biden. Many Christians will not vote for either. And guess what? You don’t have to be hateful and mean because many will not be voting the way you plan to. Be civil, kind, and respectful.

I've never regretted (1) assuming the best about people, (2) overlooking as much as possible, (3) offering more encouragement than advice and criticism, (4) and remembering the log in my eye will always skew how I see my pain, disappointments, and other people.

There’s a difference between being in a political party and having a partisan worldview. Christians must avoid the latter. No more partisanship as religion. #AND2020 Compassion (&) Conviction

We can’t “hurt” either God or the Bible, God’s Word. But we can hurt the mission of God & drive people away from faith. The best way? Link faith closely to nation, political power, & rely on Cyrus-like rulers. The young will abandon faith & the rest will worship the Gilded Bull.

1. Spiritual abusers be like: “You are an unfaithful Christian who may not be converted based on your disagreement with me. You need to repent & turn away from your perspective (sin) & accept mine. Love you, brother/sister, let me know if you wanna get coffee & talk about it.”

@HeatherTDay “For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’” (Matt. 25:35–36 ESV) We see the momentous; God sees moments.

“How do Christians fit into the Republican or Democratic Party? They don’t.”- Timothy Keller

NEW: 79% of U.S. adults say houses of worship should be required to follow the same rules about social distancing and large gatherings as other organizations or businesses in their area. https://t.co/SRQEH7nDwJ

I hear the same today. “Don’t speak of oppression. Focus on the gospel.” My response is like that given by Frederick Douglass over 150 years ago: This is Christ’s work. If you have the opportunity to help the oppressed and choose not to, I’m not interested in your gospel. 2/2

“We should not ask, ‘What is wrong with the world?’ for that diagnosis has already been given. Rather, we should ask, ‘What has happened to the salt and light?’” -John Stott

If you’re gonna let a little name-calling keep you from standing up for what you believe according to the Word of God is gospel truth, you ain’t ready. White supremacy has held tight in much of the church for so long because the racists outlasted the anti racists. Outlast THEM.

To be clear: Jesus is our ultimate hope, not Trump, Biden, a news outlet, or political party.

To be clear: I’m a Mexican-American Christian who’s theologically conservative & socially compassionate, too conservative for progressives & too progressive for conservatives, pro-life from womb to tomb, politically homeless, & who’s ultimate citizenship is in Heaven not America.

For Christians, no man-made system or theory is above critique. That includes capitalism, socialism, American exceptionalism, critical race theory, etc. Christians should be skeptical if we can’t offer a critique or identify the flaws in the concepts we refer to most.

“During the plague, which in the 16th Century tormented Geneva... [John] Calvin not only cared incessantly for the spiritual needs of the sick, but at the same time introduced hitherto unsurpassed hygienic measures whereby the ravages of the plague were arrested.” -Abraham Kuyper
