The Executive has today announced funding to extend free school meals during the half-term break.

No child should ever have to go hungry.

Sinn Féin in Government will always stand up for workers and their families. https://t.co/Cpr76ofLt9

I have just written 2 my MP @ASollowayUK 2 ask her why she voted against the #FreeSchoolMeals motion yesterday. If & when I get a reply, I expect a detailed explanation of why she believes allowing some of our most vulnerable to starve is OK. I will share her response here.

I think we should all do the same! https://t.co/d9LfK5C7V2

Up and down the country, #nurturegroups provide breakfast for vulnerable children because nurturers understand the impact hunger has on development.

That impact doesn't stop at the school gates. Neither should the support we provide them.

Tonight a majority of MPs in London voted not to give free meals to poor children https://t.co/JqJioES2fV

At the start of lockdown some of parents were hiding food from their children as it was taking so long for universal credit to come in. As a school, we were bridging the gaps and organising food vouchers/parcels. We were signposting and supporting. This is not on. https://t.co/lJa4n7cse2

I went to see this play by @prime_cut a year ago today. I really had hoped that every educator in the land would have seen it by this point. It gave me a sharper focus on the challenges of care experienced young people. Hopefully I will see it again live. #SaveTheArtsUK https://t.co/YK0rwuHk0b
