“The unwillingness to even debate economic conversion and disarmament now puts the U.S. at a high risk of succumbing finally to social pathologies of the greatest sort as people on a large scale are left hopeless." https://t.co/ueRlYQGqfG - Melman (56:53)

"Every empire, however, tells itself and the world that it is unlike all other empires, that its mission is not to plunder and control but to educate and liberate." - Edward W. Said. (Los Angeles Times, July 20, 2003)”

War industry contracts (esp. Raytheon and General Dynamics) in Rhode Island increased during Raimondo's tenure. Infrastructure, education, or healthcare create more jobs than the war industry. https://t.co/Jmpd942Snh Raimondo's embrace of the war industry set RI back.

PFAS around Luke AFB, AZ. Valley Utilities Water Company "said its water meets all EPA and Arizona drinking water standards and that no treatment is required because PFAS are not regulated by federal or state environmental agencies." #profit #pollution https://t.co/E23TTlSxRZ

In Feb, Afghanistan Study Group (rife with war industry stalwarts) recommended keeping military presence in Afghanistan. Now, a National Security Commission (packed with war industry stalwarts, incl Big Tech execs) recommends pursuing AI-powered weaponry. #war #profit #pattern

Top corporations ranked by 2020 lobbying expenditures. Four military contractors in the top 10, five in the top 20. Considering the $129.6 billion in DOD contracts these 5 firms received the year before, they’re basically lobbying for public subsidies with public subsidies. https://t.co/RnhRES3406

The US ruling class and its "war on terror" has killed millions over the past 20 years. Bush, Obama, Trump, Biden--these are the premier war criminals. Not Assad. How many more countries will D.C. destroy before the working class refuses to fight the rich man's war?

About 70 percent of Lockheed’s company revenue came from DOD contracts (i.e., federal contracts, i.e., our money). Lockheed paid its CEO ~$30 million in 2019. Military spending = welfare for the one percent.

The F-35 program is trending. The people understand that the military-industrial-congressional complex is propelled by the war industry. Profit, not defense, is the complex's primary motive. The people are rising. More info: https://t.co/G8wb2hyALi & https://t.co/KEHcemlMl7

Since the 1947 National Security Act, an unfathomable amount of money and brain power has gone toward espionage, war, propaganda, and garrisoning the globe. That $$ and scientific & technical knowledge could have created a prosperous, healthy planet. Imagine what could have been.

CRUCIAL POINT Most #Canadian war industry factories make both military and non-military goods, so the capacity already exists to switch over to non-military production. mentioned at (36:51) https://t.co/M44bu8AcW7 via @ploughshares_ca #conversion #peace #profit #COVID
