'The idea of going to full summer rugby was actually proposed to us by PRL... [but] most people feel happier if it ends in July.' 'This is a unique opportunity to separate the club game and the international game.' RUW pod with Bill Sweeney out now: https://t.co/s2xj4giaQ4 https://t.co/Ncs7R3RBfk

Sweeney also reveals to RUW the most likely template for the global calendar. Would see domestic season start in December so clubs could profit from Christmas period, and end in July... so NO rugby in August. Seems a sensible compromise which would appease LNR. More on pod later

RUW pod out later featuring meaty int with RFU chief Bill Sweeney. More details on the the global calendar and how it's the game's biggest moment since 1995, his hopes for rugby's return & the latest on the RFU diversity drive & review into Swing Low: "I won't sing it" 🔊 https://t.co/pXxmCkjo4j
