I have appealed for an immediate global ceasefire to focus on the one true fight: the battle against #COVID19. The Security Council has joined this call. We need to step up our efforts. The clock is ticking — and people are dying. https://t.co/0hfUlJsPBF

Hostilities in Yemen have subsided for now, but this is not enough. I remain extremely concerned about the situation in the country. We need an immediate ceasefire & a return to the negotiating table to work out a political settlement to end the war. Nothing less will suffice.

The central Sahel is at a breaking point. Violence is rising. The number of families facing hunger has tripled. Climate change is threatening livelihoods. And #COVID19 is making things worse. We must reverse this downward spiral with a renewed push for peace & reconciliation. https://t.co/jZ7qFQFiai

#COVID19 has brought us to a crossroads. Rather than going back to a status quo of inequality and vulnerability, this is the time to build a more inclusive, resilient and sustainable world for all.

Current & reliable data are key to understanding our changing world. #COVID19 has elevated the importance of data to save lives & recover better. On World Statistics Day, let's commit to invest in the vital role of data in meeting the challenges of our time. https://t.co/36l0LZFfK2

Small States have done little to cause the climate crisis - yet they bear the worst repercussions. The international community must provide them with much more support to adapt to climate impacts as they recover from #COVID19.

Religious sites must be respected as places of peace & harmony where worshippers & visitors can feel safe.

We all have a responsibility to look out for each other.

Join the global call #ForSafeWorship to protect religious sites worldwide. https://t.co/9WPMJakmRG https://t.co/5iwdOJ7VE0

In every country, it's the poorest & most vulnerable who are hardest hit by the climate crisis, despite having done least to cause it. In @TEDCountdown I shared how we can build a safer, fairer, more resilient world - but we need to move quickly. https://t.co/5yjYYKy4Sg

Realizing the rights of people with disabilities is a matter of justice and an investment in a common future. I'm committed to the @UN leading by example and to raising our standards and performance on disability inclusion. https://t.co/u8HEdgT0Y2

Corruption in the time of #COVID19 has the potential to seriously undermine good governance around the world & send us even farther off-track in our work to achieve the #GlobalGoals. I urge all governments & leaders to be transparent & accountable. https://t.co/de90P0jsKr

This year, up to 115 million people could be pushed into poverty because of #COVID19. The pandemic demands solidarity & strong collective action. In these extraordinary times, we need extraordinary efforts to #EndPoverty. https://t.co/olLGltNpoI https://t.co/cwcWv1JbXF

The response to #COVID19 is allowing criminals to exploit weak oversight & inadequate transparency, diverting funds away from people in their hour of greatest need. We must work together to stop such thievery and exploitation. https://t.co/de90P0jsKr

Awarding the 2020 #NobelPeacePrize to @WFP recognizes the right of all people to food, and our common quest to achieve #ZeroHunger. The @UN will continue working for a future where everyone, everywhere, has access to the nutrition they need, on #WorldFoodDay, and every day. https://t.co/JUUeIiUHA8

Handwashing is one of the most effective ways to limit the spread of #COVID19, but 40% of the global population lacks basic handwashing facilities at home. We need safe water & sanitation services for all to prevent & contain current & future pandemics. #GlobalHandwashingDay https://t.co/jstVTeOMTF

Corruption is criminal, immoral & the ultimate betrayal of public trust. It is even more damaging in times of crisis – like the world is seeing right now amid #COVID19. We must create more robust systems for accountability & transparency without delay. https://t.co/JT2rgzWwJ9 https://t.co/hgLVFa7bSO

Many rural women suffer from discrimination, systemic racism & structural poverty, despite playing a critical role in food security & nutrition.

We must invest in rural women so they can have access to the healthcare, social protection & information services they need. https://t.co/1sP3NJk16D

Climate change is not on hold, therefore we cannot postpone #ClimateAction. Addressing the climate crisis and #COVID19 simultaneously requires a response stronger than any seen before to safeguard lives and livelihoods.
