"I remind all actors that they have obligations under international law to protect civilians and civilian objects. We continue to work with the parties to reach an agreement on a nationwide ceasefire. Yemenis deserve better than a life of perpetual war."

To that effect, where are we on the peace process? Reconciliation? Yemenis deserve more than statements. https://t.co/234659FBwv

The floods are affecting #Yemen adding to the suffering of the people in a war torn country. Many cities, villages have been affected. Displaced persons running away from conflict usually settle in informal settlements situated in floods paths.

I was looking for an announcement from UN agencies or INGOs in #Yemen showing how to help in the aftermath of floods but couldn't find any. I wish there was a mechanism whereby one can send donations for an emergency relief program that would help those affected. @OCHAYemen https://t.co/eJbxugukq2

These floods in Yemen on top of #COVID19, on top of war, dysfunctional authorities, and an absent state. There is no time to delay the peace process and state-building in Yemen. Accountability, dignity, services, justice...that's what Yemenis need. https://t.co/dw9dOkJBeJ

Absolutely right. There is another floating disaster off the Yemeni coast with potentially as massive an ecological footprint as the shockwave which engulfed Beirut. The politics preventing safe evacuation of the oil must stop immediately. @UN https://t.co/oIhEe3ORJL

I find quite puzzling the over-the-top reaction of some people to the simple assertion I made in a tweet that people with whom I’ve spoken, and who are reliable, insist that they saw aircraft bombing the port. Are they right? I have no idea.

This thread raises a v important question. I am going to add my own thoughts here. I clearly heard the roar of low flying warplanes. I have experienced this many times before, including Israeli warplanes over Beirut. Being a a journalist, I rushed onto the balcony to check (1) https://t.co/B2M9PrUgSJ

Iraq will be giving wheat to Lebanon following the destruction of the silo at the port. Last year was the first time that Iraq had a surplus of wheat for a very long time and was making arrangements last week to export some of the surplus.

When it rain, it pours! The death toll from the torrential rain and the continued flood of the #Marib Dam in #Yemen has risen to 21 deaths. https://t.co/4MURIVJPlH
