Thinking of Jerry Jeff Walker’s passing, makes me want to know the top five songs about dogs dying. Any nominees?

“The Complete Robert Johnson” may be the greatest album ever. I have played it so many times and each time it sounds like a discovery, like rock and roll is being invented at that moment. True style in every instant.

Discovery is something that requires help from others.

critical creative practices in the age of abundance, access, & distraction 4.Always be learning. Don’t rely just on yourself for that either. Learning is a team sport. 5.Know how to survive. This is the foundation of the house that you are building. What else?

critical creative practices in the age of abundance, access, & distraction 3.Understand what is unique about creating in the age of modern abundance, access, & distraction. How do the business needs differ from the times before — and how much do you want to conform or rebel.

critical creative practices in the age of abundance, access, & distraction 2.Find deep emotional connection to both the material and your audience. Emotion is cinematic. Emotion is a team sport & a universal language. Emotion is the connective tissue between us all. >>>>>>

So what are critical creative practices in the age of abundance, access, & distraction? I will list out a few I recommend, but please contribute more too! https://t.co/fbJBvSQc4E and display your authentic self. It is what differentiates your work from all the rest. >>>>>

The alignment of these three aspects – business practices, tech advances, and social revolutions – is a perfect storm needed to issue a film ecosystem transformation. Let’s get prepared for it, shall we?

Business practices and goals are different than they were just a year ago. The technology is always evolving; it transforms at a speed for those that were not born into it to keep up. Social change has rendered much of the prior work no longer relevant.

This is your time, not theirs. The recent changes are greater than the other great changes that came every year for the last thirty years, or at least it feels that way to me.

How do filmmakers & other artists/entrepreneurs need to advance their creative practices for this era of abundance, access, & distraction? If we accept that this era is fully unique, what do we need to emphasize more, embrace, or develop in ways that were not the same before?

I think it is the long ago penned tunes on the new Springsteen album that resonate most for me on. Going to have to give an immediate second spin now.

It's a good weekend when you can start it off with a new album from #BruceSpringsteen

Never design for people to bike between parked and driving cars - they should have their own protected lane on the other ride of the parked cars https://t.co/HKbG9nRGsj

You ask: Why are you so optimistic about the film biz? I answer: This photo shows that either aliens or angels are mainlining positivity straight to my brain. You: no, but really, why? Me say: Well Christine @kvpi is walking the path w me! CheckItOut: https://t.co/29G9MvEKjX

If all the best & brightest companies& individuals that so wisely invested in Quibi would invest a fraction of that $ in never proven artists&entrepreneurs, both they and our culture & CFE would be doing much better now.

No one wants a film ecosystem that requires everyone to earn their living in another field. Just because we can make things inexpensively doesn't mean that we should have to. Removing an initial cost barrier to entry should be a choice & opportunity, & not a necessity.

To build the #RoadmapToUtopia we have to understand where we are and if not agree on it, absorb the wide range of opinion; only then can we accurately point to where we want to go. To build a BetterFE, we must first define the components of the CFE (Current Film Ecosystem)

The now dominant players in the business (global streaming platforms)can SEE their customers are far more diverse than their content. They need to really open their doors wide, but we still don't know how to all speak the same language.
