Today I will repeat my request that the Coronavirus Act Easement powers now be switched off, in the Lords 6 month review debate. Disabled children, adults and older people need their right to care & support services maintained to survive the pandemic, not cut! @UKHouseofLords

Abertay's Professor of Duty of Care in Sport David Lavallee has been speaking to @UB_UK about the impact of #COVID19 on university sport. Read what he has to say on page 34: https://t.co/HUWRdzpUKv

Important that the “winter economy plan” from @RishiSunak provides support for the sport and physical activity sector. Both @sportrectweets and @_ukactive have consistently called for financial support for our beleaguered members, including VAT cuts. Urgent help needed.

“The fear is that this could result in a slump in participation just at the time it’s needed most” Some though also on the crisis for indoor and community sport, along with the recreational leisure sector, here on the @BBCr4today programme earlier. https://t.co/gFeK8n6s6n

Govt needs to provide a #sportsrecovery package that supports the whole sector. It should match those given to the arts & hospitality sector, providing funding & tax support. If not, we face a lost generation of sport & activity, seeing the closure of 100s of leisure facilities.

Sadly my signal didn’t appear to hold out for interview on @bbc5live and @TherealNihal 48% of local leisure at threat of closure. Sector is in unique place to help stimulate economy and improve health. @_ukactive opportunity to save NHS £240m in savings through healthier nation

My @BBCNews at 10 report as 100+ sport & fitness bodies ask the PM for emergency funding, warning the future for the sector is “perilous”. But it comes with government set to scrap plans for a phased return of fans from next month, deepening an unprecedented crisis for sports. https://t.co/HrvCbPy3oU

59% of all deaths involving #COVID19 from 2 March to 14 July were among disabled people https://t.co/JzGgFluiR4

We’ve published analysis of #COVID19 deaths of disabled people (2 March to 14 July 2020). We define disabled people as those who reported in Census 2011 their daily activities were limited a little or a lot by a long lasting health problem or disability https://t.co/bYiycxX6RZ

To everyone who should have been running the Great North Run today, here’s your virtual bottle of water that would have been on John Reid Road https://t.co/mf6FzhGR4u

Kingsman Golden circle. Cripping up (again) and the villain.

@law4dance @GympalGB @NSPCC @scotgov @ScotGovFM @CYPCS @children1st One would be keen to know the number of recommendations deployed stemming from @Tanni_GT's 2017 Duty of Care in Sport report. Few if any one suspects. We now await @FA Independent Review into Child Sex Abuse Allegations in Football + @ScottishFA Review of same Scotland /1
