Florida voted to increase the state minimum wage to $15. So if you don't think minimum wage should be at least $15, you're less progressive than the state of Florida. Florida. Sit with that for a while.

Proposed essay title: "What I Think About When I Think About Thinking" ๐Ÿฅด jkjk

What do your thoughts look like? โ€”thereโ€™s no right answer to this, and mine is probably not the most common answer. More info in next tweet.

Please do me a favor and share this so it gets answers from outside my bubble. https://t.co/5Oqvaf8JYI

An article about method of thought went semi-viral. From a neuroscience perspective, it was pretty shoddy, and @laurenthehough has requested that I write something better and/or an essay. Iโ€™ll share my answer to the poll when itโ€™s closed so I donโ€™t skew the results.

Hey letโ€™s pay *everyone* a living wage for their work and make wage gaps smaller and stop pretending that how much someone gets paid is some kind of indication of the moral value of them or their work rather than a result of enduring inequality and oppression in our society

I will not tolerate any anti-library posts here. If youโ€™re against libraries, youโ€™re wrong. Go sit in the corner and think about what youโ€™ve done.

i dislike this idea that great strife (collective or individual or both) = great art. or that in times of great devastation, at least there'll be great art. i'd rather be less extremely stressed. there will be stress & grief anyway. i'd trade "great art" for a more livable world

Hereโ€™s an easy, free way to help authors that only takes a minute: Put in purchase requests for their books at the library. This 1) Gets your library to buy their book, AND 2) now other people near you can discover the title and the author. Even one book can have a ripple effect.

How cool would it be if a tweet about libraries went viral? It's off to a good start. Just saying ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ https://t.co/p2hiRQhb5J

Many libraries have an online portal where you can do this. My local one is called โ€œsuggest-a-title.โ€
