Deported man says he has lived in airport for months via @IrishTimes https://t.co/A9Ih5of3Z0

1/4 When I was in primary and secondary school, I used to read about great men and women in text books, who made history and impacted their countries. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I will one day become one of those change makers in a text book. @FolensIreland https://t.co/HUUpjffrlr

For young people in direct provision accessing PLC courses there are often no financial supports for books or transport. For young people living in rural direct provision centres the cost of public transport can be as much as €17 per day even with a student fare.

Congratulations to the 2 young people on our Connect Project awarded @UCC Sanctuary Scholarships. 🥳
Connect is also supporting 5 young people in #DirectProvision w/ courses. We're struggling to cover the high cost of transport & have set up a GoFundMe https://t.co/M4WD0x1yKX https://t.co/wcIOtixftR

The lack of communication from Department of Justice/An Garda Siochana to migrants affected, NGO's who work across the country, legal practitioners is unbelievably disrepectful. Jobs have been lost, housing has been lost, social welfare safety nets have been lost

Today is the last working day before immigration permissions are set to expire for huge migrant numbers across Ireland. This is the 5th time we have found ourselves here waiting for a response from @DeptJusticeIRL as to what is happening.

We're very concerned about the backlog for renewal of immigration permissions. Some people waiting up to 6 wks for return of passports. It's time @McEntee @DOJ introduce long-term plan so migrant workers & families aren't left anxious & in limbo.People's livelihoods are at stake.

We are now only 3 days away from the auto renewal period for imm permissions expiring. @HMcEntee WHAT IS THE PLAN?! Migrants and their families extremely worried about their status and what's going to happen. @DorasIRL @immigrationIRL @NascIreland @irishmigrants @MigrantRightsIr

Our clients don’t know if they should show up to work on Monday if their IRP card has expired. We’re hearing from people sent home from their jobs. There are 8-12 week backlogs for GNIB appointments in Cork City & Limerick. We need a plan urgently. https://t.co/PSfuUkv5Pl

This is unacceptable. The hugely negative impact of such delays was all too evident in our #InvisiblePeople report. The protracted separation not only cause untold stress while waiting to be reunited .... https://t.co/rK4PTQwOWc

Too right @MuireannNiR Current Family Reunification provisions unkind & inhumane. Time for @rodericogorman & @HMcEntee to revive my Family Reunification Bill. Had cross party & independents + Justice Cttee endorsement. Would be a start @NascIreland @OxfamIreland @IrishRefugeeCo https://t.co/DPWkx1EvtF

And important to point out that the timeline does not include the lengthy wait to be granted refugee status before being eligible to apply and the logistics, time and cost associated with actually managing to get family members into the state after reunification approved

Also, many going through family reunification do not benefit from the excellent support and advocacy provided by @immigrationIRL & other NGOs such as @NascIreland and @IrishRefugeeCo How long are those ‘cases’ taking? @mkarensmith1
