@FergalBowers The UK variant is "equivalent to a new virus, almost"
A statement designed maliciously to manipulate and induce maximum fear and compliance, while also technically getting himself off the hook of scrutiny, by throwing in the word "almost" at the end.We see you! We are not idiots.
Nope. Not having it. Enough is enough now. I’m opening my business in April. Not prepared to stand by and watch it die right in front of my eyes. And I’ll be attending every overly protest in the country until then too. We don’t matter. They don’t care. Enough is enough. https://t.co/40R2P5pkN4
This is nothing short of complete and abject failure. Inexcusable and unacceptable. Who’s to say we won’t be living with “real risks” and “challenges” come winter 2029/30?? Ridiculous. Life must go on. Vaccinate and get on with LIVING https://t.co/HVKkQ3iQ8x
@BallouxFrancois It seems to my rather limited understanding of what we're going through at this time - we're being 'groomed' to see life through the prism of disease. To expect our lives to be medicalised in order to constantly prove we are free of disease. That is not a life I want to live.
There are trade-offs and choices in life. We may wish to resume a meaningful and hopeful post-pandemic existence, or we can make #COVID19 random mass-testing part of daily life. Either objective is achievable, but they are mutually incompatible in the long term. https://t.co/ePojTVCcG6
As the PM prepares to announce a tentative timetable for loosening lockdown, it’s perhaps worth noting that the UK currently has the strictest lockdown in the developed world (as measured by the Oxdford @BlavatnikSchool’s tracker) https://t.co/lGjsBU1zLP
Here’s DeSantis explaining why Florida didn’t discharge covid patients back into nursing homes.
Here’s the key point: Florida did not believe the modes predicting they’d run out of beds. New York did believe those models.
The models were wrong. No state ran out of beds. https://t.co/qSnVhM2x27
I just rediscovered this thread I wrote in March last year. I had forgotten about it, as did everyone else apparently. It feels a bit frustrating that I could write essentially the same today.
I have thought very long and hard about the best mitigation strategies for the Covid-19 pandemic over the last week ... and reached the conclusion this really is a 'wicked problem'. I believe anyone who believes there are simple fixes didn't think hard enough about it (1/4)
The testing data is being manipulated!
The Government MUST publish testing centres statistics by centre immediately!
Why are they withholding critical data from the public.
The NHS does not have more covid patients than Wave 1.
The testing is higher than wave 1 so more asymptomatic cases captured.
Estimated beds occupied with those needing covid treatment are 25-30% of wave 1.
Thats the fact, ignore the scare headlines.
To go with the Daily Mail column on today on 10,000 infections happening post admission, this confirms that to be true, actual admissions for covid are far lower than official data is suggesting. Retweets are better than likes. https://t.co/qyEY9AwfVg
Billions of pounds of public money are flowing into the research and development of covid-19 vaccines. Yet this money continues to be handed over to the pharmaceutical industry without any transparency, warn @LeaozinhoM and Isabelle Jani-Friend @MSFhttps://t.co/FGKgN4xcnH
