A "research grant" proposal where we just give as many families as possible money during covid and measure how it improves their psychological and economic outcomes.

Last add on I 100% AGREE we need to question how said research can be more transformative and less incremental. For Alzheimer’s we need to build & use data resources with appropriate representation from those groups that are impacted most.

Some fields may have enough evidence already to act, but this is the case in #Alzheimers where we lack estimates of r/e differences in care utilization/outcomes, or an understanding of what patterns variations therein - 2/3

I will not stop (a) complaining about systematic disinvestment in gynecologic and reproductive health research or (b) citing this paper & its cluster analysis of 150 topics most and least likely to be funded by NIH. Guess what’s at the bottom! https://t.co/sFQDhwVShi https://t.co/YaMmWdRGDL

A new @SAGEHealthInfo study led by @DR_LJParker and @ChaneeFabius using #NHATS data found that new Black dementia caregivers were 69% less likely to use respite, a temporary rest from caregiving, compared to white caregivers. https://t.co/KddfKty6T9 https://t.co/OQM5Ni7CjO

Enjoyed working on this with my friend and colleague @DR_LJParker! https://t.co/phyPIXDWCU

When #NIA released the Lucidity in Dementia RFA I carried it with me everywhere. Eventually I decided to go for it & wrote the grant of my dreams. I can't believe I have the opportunity to bring this science to life with this phased innovation award!! https://t.co/bQLtrbb0kR

Bad Bunny’s concert is in the Bronx. Like he passed by where I live. I can’t explain how I feel right now 😩😩😩😩

In an effort to inform our community about voting rights and voter suppression, @RevDrBarber will talk about how we can ensure that everyone who can vote does at a @ColumbiaSSW event on 9/22 at noon ET. https://t.co/1q5wtJheHw

@weiming_watson @alexjweigand @APA @PsychScience @INSneuro @NANneuropsych @ISTAART Also that many times grants won't pay for membership fees even if registration for a conference + membership fee is cheaper than regular conference registration (w/o membership)!

@alexjweigand @APA @PsychScience @INSneuro @NANneuropsych @ISTAART Agree three million percent. They should be free. BS that orgs charge fees to students who are making at most 20-35k a year and many of whom are in ever increasing debt

Petition to eliminate academic organization membership costs for students. @APA @PsychScience @INSneuro @NANneuropsych @ISTAART To join all of the above organizations, it would cost me: $67 + $88 + $45 + $50 + $75 = $325. I need that money for bills, medical costs, food, etc.
