Retweeting this for the third time today to make sure all our fabulous trans in STEM siblings see this! Also, the awesome @DoriMatG emailed and found out that applications are open worldwide :) https://t.co/KSWuGesv3x

Smaller bodied people *systematically* received earlier antiviral treatment than larger bodied people. Controlling for this difference eliminates impact of obesity on H1N1 fatality. Obesity kills, but the critical mediator is not biology, it's bias. https://t.co/nSiYEUKhkx

A ~cool~ August day and a trip back home to Ouachitas means I had to visit my favorite spot! https://t.co/JyZoV2bNGN

Hi my name is Lindsey Martin. I'm a PhD student in the Molecular Science Department at Arkansas State University. I cried in my meeting with my college dean and graduate school dean in light of the upcoming in-person teaching's effect on my peers not offered insurance. https://t.co/jGrYo8rvpQ

Thank you, @CallMe_Overlord for fighting for all us (grad) students at @ArkansasState. Our lives are on the line this fall for a below poverty-level paycheck. Even with health insurance, we would just be sick/die with no debt. Our lives are worth tuition. School should be online. https://t.co/cH7nXjsTkG

My biggest takeaway from #HamiltonFilm was “...and Peggy..!” It’s an all-around mood.

Thanks @AlexJWorm and @Emdoskeleton for taking me out to catch some flycatchers this morning! So cool to get to hold and work with this female Scissor-tailed Flycatcher and Eastern Kingbird in the hand! https://t.co/QUsN7xTRbd

Let’s please use the name “community science” instead of “citizen science” when referring to data collection by the general public...it should include EVERYONE! This alternate (and better!) name was brought to my attn by people in my circle. Grateful for justice-minded friends!

In 2017, I did my 1st #MAPS day at @WolfRidgeELC. I vowed to open a station in AR, and yesterday, we had our 1st day! 34 birds across 15 species! Thanks to @tsisquaugidali, @hendrixcollege, @ARGameandFish, @InstBirdPop and my team of current/ former students for collaborating! https://t.co/1v5VTc99Tl

Y’all! Big shoutout to @NatureWithMojo for starting this MAPS station and running it so well yesterday. It was a blast to be there and help on the inaugural day! Here’s to many more to come! https://t.co/7AVARCzvzB

Although it’s a little past #FemaleBirdDay, it’s never too late to appreciate female birds! Here’s the gorgeous wing coverts, rump, and head plumage of a female Blue Grosbeak. The shades of blue, greenish, and brown are stunning! I was fortunate to appreciate this bird up close. https://t.co/AIbY3HPBVd

I also love hearing them sing (or in the case of some males, try to sing) each winter! It’s adorable when they only manage to hit a few notes before going quiet 🥰😂

This bird holds a special place in my birding heart. It was the first bird I truly appreciated through binoculars while on a campus birding walk led by @NatureWithMojo while at @hendrixcollege. Those yellow lores were stunning! 😍

To get things started, let’s hear about your encounters with the White-throated Sparrow!

To hear new stories and perspectives during the pandemic, I want to start the #MyBirdStories series! At least weekly, I’ll tweet about a bird species and myself and others would love to hear your tales about the first time you saw this species, an interesting behavior, etc.
