Boris Johnson has to act swiftly and decisively to get infections under control so that Christmas is not lost. https://t.co/ogS7cF1DFf

And that's it for #LabWomen2020 - join us again tomorrow for the start of Connected, the biggest online event our movement has ever seen. Check out our #Lab2020 programme 👇https://t.co/wXVmzPNyrt

Football clubs across the country, like @WFCOfficial, have supported their communities in the fight against coronavirus - now there must be a plan to help the game survive this crisis. https://t.co/Q5QmF1w6qD

Final stop of the day. A walk around Walsall market with @Keir_Starmer listening to the concerns and hopes of local people. It’s clear that, working together, we can build a new future for the West Midlands. https://t.co/UebTm3NcUH

As I said on my visit to Edinburgh, governments in Holyrood and Westminster need to focus on defeating coronavirus. https://t.co/vuCX8QWDJ6

Deeply saddened by the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She was an incredible legal mind and a champion of justice. She gave generations of women and girls the belief that they too could fight for a more equal world. She will be sorely missed.

We stood on our doorsteps every Thursday at the start of the pandemic and clapped care workers. But appreciation isn't enough, it doesn’t pay the bills and it doesn’t put food on the table. We need a plan for social care, where all care workers are paid at least the living wage

Warm words don’t pay the rent, pay the bills or put food on the table. After all they have done for all of us, a pay rise is the very least that our care workers deserve. https://t.co/m7nCTGzcjA

We can't clap for our key workers and then abandon them. We can't go back to business as usual, where the very same people who have helped to get our country through this crisis are still underpaid and undervalued. https://t.co/Y9d9MJWo5E

In Walsall this morning at the start of our virtual conference. I believe a better future is possible for Britain. Labour is offering the new leadership our country needs.

Quoted @FoundationTessa

We’re so proud today to announce the launch of the Tessa Jowell foundation, which has been founded to deliver her incredible legacy, with a focus on Public Health which was her life long passion.❤️

Tessa was an inspiration. She is sorely missed but lives on in the memories she gave us and her incredible legacy: from Sure Start to the Olympics, to cancer research funding. It is fitting that her vision and immense dedication will live on in The Tessa Jowell Foundation. https://t.co/TEawYOhCZO

The British public want to know what the situation is and what the Government is going to do about it. I want to make clear too that Labour will continue to act in the national interest. We will support whatever measures the Government take to protect the NHS and save lives.

This is the time for swift, decisive national action. We cannot afford to be too slow. That’s why I’m asking the Prime Minister to convene a COBRA meeting and to update the country on the measures the Government‘s taking to keep the virus under control, including to fix testing.

I am deeply concerned about the sharp rise in coronavirus cases and the difficulties people across the country are facing getting a test. There is mounting concern about whether we have got the virus sufficiently under control.
