Aaand it's gone. The Il-114LL belongs to Radar-MMS and is related to their Kasatka program. It can apparently mount multiple radars, telemetry, and optoelectronic environmental monitoring and camera systems, according to Karpenko. https://t.co/IFYvYs1XHE

Interesting bird. The Il-114LL, an airborne sensor testbed, is currently flying around near St. Petersburg. https://t.co/7BlsgauRep https://t.co/cqp5A3wiG4

Are there any good resources for finding out what online webinars/conferences are going on in the strategic weapons/policy/missiles/space fields?

Figuring out the Notice to Mariners associated with this was easy - it's probably Arkhangelsk 21/20.

Figuring out the NOTAM was harder - I think it's Q4544/20. Rather than closing airspace, it closes segments of the Air Traffic Service routes that pass over the area. https://t.co/4dVEygsMtO https://t.co/46QHNgHSGb

If you are fluent in Chinese, have a master’s degree, possess strong data analysis skills, have an academic or professional background in Chinese foreign policy, and want to work 35 hours per week *for free* then this is the opportunity for you. https://t.co/CnmGfzm8hs

+1. Why does our field lack diversity? Well, this entry-level position requires an MA, proficiency in Chinese, is full-time and pays ... nothing. You can figure out what that pool of people looks like. https://t.co/MCVhW8dNkf

Frustrating to see that in the year 2020 there are multibillion $$$ think tanks that are still trying to justify full-time, unpaid internships. Unpaid internships entrench the white, male, & affluent power structures that permeate the policy world. Abolishing them is essential.

Considering that organizations in the STEM fields can afford to pay their interns, I don't see why policy students should expect to be unpaid. Their work is no less valuable than STEM students. https://t.co/ZhAFvhrSRJ

Alright, everyone, time to close up shop. Science has peaked. It's all downhill from here. Seriously though, those figures are amazing. https://t.co/HAg7u4FsXp

I wrote a new article that is basically a crash course into PLARF mobile ICBM brigade TOE and infrastructure and also details production of DF-31AG launchers. https://t.co/m0U5tFhhT0

Excellent article. It's exciting to learn more about Chinese TEL design. https://t.co/Hr49sfehQt

(3 names because the company was sued into bankruptcy 3 times; Jimenez filed for bankruptcy in February) J/B/Jimenez guns fail to meet basic expectations for safety & reliability; no respectable manufacturer would make guns of such low quality A fitting match for the McCloskeys

And the piece de resistance? The cherry on top? Despite living in a giant house in a private neighborhood, Patricia McCloskey is pointing a sub-$100 garbage gun at those protesters. A Jennings/Bryco/Jimenez, the last of the "ring of fire" Saturday night specials. https://t.co/yxdjBjJBqm

The detection of Ru-103 but not Ru-106 is puzzling. It suggests this released was associated with processing very low-burnup irradiated fuel that had only been cooled a short time (weeks).

An interesting note. Also, @russianforces points out the small-scale reprocessing facility in Gatchina, south of St. Petersburg, which I had totally forgotten about. https://t.co/YdR1pl5leO

Also, sorry to the people who retweeted or faved one of the copies I deleted. Some sort of "Whoa there, corky, you just tweeted this exact same text, are you sure you want to do it again?" would be nice.

Sweet fucking christ. So all those times it told me there was a problem IT WAS ACTUALLY TWEETING WHAT I WANTED IT TO?! Seriously, get your user interface sorted out, Twitter.

2/2 Russia is struggling with COVID-19. On June 6, local government imposed severe restrictions on entering and leaving Severodvinsk in order to ensure continued operations at Sevmash shipyard, where Russian nuclear submarines are built and repaired. https://t.co/LeuAq1qFxd

I am not sure this is related to the radiation detection, but it is a definite possibility. Given the pandemic, I am not sure why they would go to sea right now, unless it was an important operation planned months in advance. 1/2 https://t.co/2BW86U1iwH
