In fact, we could do this too and support gyms and sports centres as well as NHS and our health.....😀 https://t.co/fuvjK7naT8

It's lovely supporting restaurants with Mon - Weds 'Eat Out to Help Out'. But when I see people are tucking in, I wonder how this fits with the anti-obesity drive. Should we designate some time Thurs - Sun as 'Eat Nowt to Help Out' to support our health and @NHS resources? 🤣🙄 https://t.co/52Qkn2lHuS

Just read another study about how leptin resistance affects weight loss. No surprise that 'just eat fewer calories and move a bit more' advice is too simplistic and doesn't work for long. Need to tune back into body's natural weight control mechanisms - much easier than diets! https://t.co/MM91780EPK

Another study has shown that shorter eating window can help people lose weight and reduce various health risks. There's loads of good reasons behind it. We were told in past to eat little & often. No wonder people get confused! https://t.co/ZfgaTpBMvq photo Korie Cull, unsplash https://t.co/LL4d1N6T9D

Interesting. Finally we are starting to see recommendations changing away from low-fat diets to low-carb diets. Recent review found no evidence that people with high cholesterol should eliminate saturated fat https://t.co/QMpWXt1VH8 https://t.co/ytK4fE82yF

For once I've managed to get to my cherry tree before the birds! This beautiful photo by @brookelark has got me thinking about cherry pie. But with the number of cherries I've got this year I'm searching for lots more healthy cherry recipes. #HealthyRecipes #healthylifestyle https://t.co/BOz7K8LsBI

I'm always up for killing two birds with one stone, especially when time is short. So combining some physical exercise with some mental exercise is a winner. This blog from @fitbit gives a few tips on meditating whilst walking. https://t.co/lrLH2uEnvh https://t.co/Qor5g4XKJe

Another study showing that eating late may not help weight loss efforts. Apparently it causes less fat burned overnight. Not what we want! And eating late at night can impair sleep too - which doesn't help weight loss either. What time you you tend to eat? https://t.co/rrt20TWRaY https://t.co/oI56awiK3J

Uplifting study shows growing fruit and veg in just 10% of a city's gardens and other urban green spaces could provide 15% of local population with their '5 a day'. Let's get something positive from self-isolation and get to grips with 'grow your own'! https://t.co/kPVkKtxXX2 https://t.co/OSDsbjWYbu

Just to reinforce importance of regular handwashing and isolation, new evidence shows coronavirus can be found in air particles for up to 3 hrs, up to 24 hours on cardboard and up to 3 days on plastic and stainless steel. Keep safe. https://t.co/mOOjDpIi7A https://t.co/KDSguz3aXi

Delighted to speak on Weight Gain in Perimenopause for @mymenopausedr study day. Science-based lifestyle changes help weight control but are hard if struggling with menopause. Potential HRT risks may be outweighed by benefits of being healthier weight https://t.co/F2ftCBDZ3u https://t.co/JtO9To4Bj8

Quality over quantity! We focus a lot on 10,000 steps a day but are they good ones?! Pushing yourself a bit harder in short bursts with Interval Walking Training may be better than just pottering along for longer! Easier to fit into a busy day too! https://t.co/QzwMe5wROg https://t.co/7tWZS368c2

Help yourself and help your planet! New study shows that almost all foods associated with improved health outcomes (e.g., whole grains, fruits, veg, legumes, nuts ,olive oil) have the lowest environmental impacts. Benefits all round! https://t.co/t3AUI2shUt https://t.co/6PfFECvvvl

Looks like better sleep and better gut microbiome are linked. Does one cause the other or maybe a generally healthier lifestyle is good for both? Who knows? Does it matter? It's just another reason to look at your whole lifestyle to improve health/weight. https://t.co/GaSG2QJdSE https://t.co/zn0WfLr8x6

OK - it's a study on fruit flies! But if you need a jolt to get off your blue screens, this study suggests that blue light can accelerate aging. We already know blue light reduces sleep quality and can affect weight control - but ages us too? No thanks! https://t.co/XOAmBS7uif https://t.co/KX3AId1jIH

More evidence that yo-yo dieting's harmful - it seems to drive compulsive eating by reducing our 'reward' feeling in the brain. So we binge-eat to get the pleasure we used to get from normal eating. Yet more reason to #ditchthediet and just eat #realfood https://t.co/C1byZdFxsP https://t.co/DMyCMd9WW2

Is the tide turning? Ipsos poll shows 3 in 5 of us think eating well is more important than being thin and over half think most diet plans ultimately fail. Hopefully we're focusing more on nutritious real food for health as well as easier weight control. https://t.co/cVDWf1DLf2 https://t.co/wTuq5dJTmA
