Smart move if Wednesday’s stimulus measures from @RishiSunak include a time-limited voucher scheme, designed to boost offline retail sector recovery. An idea @JoeBLynam and I have urged the Treasury to consider for a while now ➡️ https://t.co/upz8pxCL8K https://t.co/ciZ8iEt6w6

Even more effective than a temporary VAT cut would be a time-limited voucher scheme, say, £100 per person, redeemable only in offline High Street retail - designed to rapidly incentivise customers to spend in next couple of months (ie, use-it-or-lose-it) https://t.co/xONUiXwf32 https://t.co/5LhtlNHavF

Kickstarting the High Street must be part of the Chancellor’s planned stimulus measures - and relaxing shopping hour restrictions would help retailers & customers cope with queues. One of several steps that @JoeBLynam & I recommended here: https://t.co/xONUiXwf32 https://t.co/ZiP4DTk4TQ

If @RishiSunak is designing a post-lockdown stimulus scheme (let’s hope so..!), then it’s crucial he understands that fearful consumers may be reluctant to spend - so a time-limited voucher programme targeted at the High Street may be a better bet? https://t.co/8Yvr3LzkoL https://t.co/qk5tsVf0nU

As well as a roadmap out of lockdown, next week’s ‘exit strategy’ from the UK Govt must plan to stimulate consumer spending specifically in the High Street - otherwise we will find ourselves in the ‘zombie recovery’. Some ideas here ➡️ https://t.co/ciZ8iEt6w6 https://t.co/xofDjv4qDL

'The treasury could save the high street – by giving everyone £100 vouchers' –  interesting read by @JoeBLynam and @ChrisLeslieUK. https://t.co/w9ThqvnKmG

'The treasury could save the high street – by giving everyone £100 vouchers' – @JoeBLynam and @ChrisLeslieUK write. https://t.co/l8y9ncBA3h

Kickstarting the High Street & restoring consumer confidence after lockdown needs serious planning right now @RishiSunak could target stimulus with time-limited £100 vouchers to all citizens, only redeemable in offline retail. More here with @JoeBLynam➡️ https://t.co/ciZ8iEt6w6

A year ago today 7 MPs left Labour. A slightly more stressful day for me and our tiny team. They spoke out when others didn’t. Proud of them then, proud of them now. And Anna, Joan, Heidi and Sarah too. https://t.co/QE0AldIEUY

Quoted @annaturley

Very pleased with today’s verdict, and to be able to say that I have won my libel action against Unite the Union and Skwawkbox. My full statement: https://t.co/6bB3jPbBrN

Congratulations to my successor. It’s been a great honour to represent Nottingham for the past decade The country’s been landed with Johnson for 5 years. And all because of the self-indulgent Labour hard left, denying the public a credible alternative. We warned this would happen https://t.co/4S9R4zr4wo

We warned this would happen. We tried everything we could to prevent the hard-left self-indulgence within the Labour Party. And now the country will pay the price. I’m so sorry too few within Labour took a stand with us, when it would have mattered.
