This sort of thing is happening *all the time*. Data which hasn't been uploaded. Partial data which can't be used to do the analysis. Data which gives different results from the paper. Call yourselves scientists?

Writing stats tutorials. Looking for example datasets from published papers. That's a nice one... writes part of tutorial, oh hang on I can't replicate the analysis. Sits and scratches head... they've reported a one-tailed test result but not actually mentioned it anywhere.

Welcome to twitter, John McNamara! @John4361Mc

Those of you worried about sharing your data with the new #NHSCOVID19app ... you do realise apple, google, Facebook etc have all been farming your data and making money off the back of it for... a while.

Dogs are more responsive to meowing kittens (separation calls) than they are to crying human babies.

I have an actual live, in person (socially distanced) event tomorrow and, um, I just realised I've forgotten how to dress myself properly from the ribcage down?

Dog science for young minds! A paper about how police dogs are trained, co-authored by undergraduate Sara Jones and reviewed by 8 - 13 year olds. Frontiers for Young Minds, August 2020 https://t.co/ToIffSmBbh

Advice please - how many vivas a year do people think it is realistic to do as an external?

So frustrated and sad. When a student decline PhD offer because the standard stipend for a PhD in Canada is not enough and request 1.5 times more. Also decline to late to contact other applicants. Back to the hunt for a PhD student. I will be advertising QG PhD soon.

Every single funded NERC Fellowship went to a man this year. 100%. Just let that sink in. @NERCscience

I was really disappointed that my application for a NERC IRF was unsuccessful this year, as I thought the interview went pretty well and reviewers were really positive. This turns my disappointment into anger. (looks like I’m highest non-funded on my panel) #WomenInSTEM https://t.co/ySg56vXLuW

The university's partnership with @suez is a truly amazing one.

We are proud to be 100% landfill free, as all of our waste is either recycled or turned into energy!

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Prof. Dame Georgina Mace - a giant in the field of conservation biology, our former Director of Science, and a huge inspiration to ecologists worldwide. Our deepest condolences to her family and friends, and to our colleagues at @UCLCBER. https://t.co/jLI2M73JHc

Very sad news. I had no direct professional link with Georgina, but (and I think this is a sign of her generosity of spirit and promotion of early career scientists) she was unfailingly supportive to me at several key moments in my career. https://t.co/AJP6VKw97d

One issue found in #pruittdata is a sequence which is repeated with a difference of 2.03 https://t.co/7hGiFrbJUB I had no idea how to find repeated sequences with an offset, so I wrote an R package twopointzerothree to do it https://t.co/VoKhRhWo71

This is obscene. Sally Hunt paid extra £400K by UCU on leaving general secretary job while @ucu @DrJoGrady impose a levy on members to subsidise strikers and keep the Fighting Fund afloat. I get ever closer to leaving @ucu #mismanagement #Incompetence https://t.co/5Qc3jCSaVn

I am recruiting 1-2 Ph.D. students to join my lab starting Fall 2021. My lab tests questions in evolutionary & behavioral ecology related to response to environmental change. More details here: https://t.co/9FF00gwpoQ #GradRecruitWeek

The letter (in April) slowed down the ongoing process of evaluating his papers by months, a chilling effect that may have allowed incorrect results to persist longer than necessary. I am being open about this because legal intimidation should not have a place in science

Interesting highlight after rejecting a paper I submitted. Is this even legal/ethical? 🙄 https://t.co/xjN4TjTrs1
