@BenJohnson2018 Working on the outline of my political suspense thriller. Moves forward as fast as a snail.
@BenJohnson2018 Probably drafting a few scenes of a script I'm co-writing.
@BenJohnson2018 Sent feature revisions off to my manager last week so today I'm diving into revisions on another feature, off his notes, and later doing some work on a caper-comedy feature (early days on that one). Happy writing, Ben!
@BenJohnson2018 My "Treatment Month" draws to a close on Wednesday; thereafter, I start knocking out drafts of two low-budget features (~$100K; half dozen characters or so; few locations). I won't be writing them simultaneously, however. At least I think I won't. 😐 Write on!
@BenJohnson2018 That's such a fun place to be! It'll turn out great. I just finished a show bible this morning and next up is finishing the first draft of a feature.
@BenJohnson2018 Sounds like a great week ahead great!! Trying to figure out the middle part of my feature, which is proving to be rather challenging 😅 I have the beginning and end but the middle is empty 😅
@BenJohnson2018 On the first draft now. 25 pages in and loving it! The real work was on cracking the story in outline, meaning I can play and improvise within the script. 😁
@BenJohnson2018 Crawling back to my WIP, A Safe House on Rue Abel. It’s been a week.
@BenJohnson2018 Cracking on with first draft feature. Enjoy the work Ben 😁👍
@BenJohnson2018 Working on a short horror script that I'm aiming to shoot next month.
I haven't posted any art in a long time so I wanted to share my most recent personal drawings that I've been working on. I've been playing with a more painterly look with more dramatic lighting and shadows. #art #digitalartwork #AfricanFantasy #drawing https://t.co/yIz3kC4JY1
I used to struggle to maintain a healthy self-esteem bcs I attached my WORTH to my WORK. When my work was criticized I personalized it, seeing it as a rejection of WHO I WAS instead of an opinion on WHAT I’D DONE. I’ve learned that I’m much more than my writing. #WritingCommunity https://t.co/orwM12sjzt
Good morning #WritingCommunity. To celebrate a new week here’s a new #drawing, AFRICAN QUEEN, from my son @exel_art. He’s a self-taught young artist who started a business this year doing concept #art & character design for books, movies & video games. Feel free to DM for rates🙏🏽 https://t.co/8CAPjpnA8w
@BenJohnson2018 I tend to like fault-ridden protagonists and enjoy them going through hell. Probably a mirror of my own life a bit. Not sure I’m the protagonist in my own life though.
@BenJohnson2018 One of my (many) annoying writing tics is that all of my characters are smartasses who love to have the last word. Which totally plays hell with scene length, structure, intent, etc. I’ve learned to temper everyone with a “wiseassery level” rank sheet to combat this. 😐
@BenJohnson2018 Yeah I often like my villains unless I am molding them after a supervisor i used to have and then i make them suffer terrible things. 😂
@BenJohnson2018 I draw the shades, turn down the lights, and play genre-appropriate music to set the tone and then put each scene "up on its feet" - taking turns acting out the parts, seeing what feels right to say & do, even going blow for blow in fight scenes - to see it all in my head
