Today, I made clear that if Democrats ever attack the key Senate rules, it would drain the consent and comity out of the institution. A scorched-earth Senate would hardly be able to function. It wouldn’t be a progressive’s dream. It would be a nightmare. I guarantee it.
The dissonance of appealing to comity while threatening rampant obstruction if he doesn’t get his way reveals how McConnell has always used lofty notions and appeals to tradition to cover for his crass power plays. He knows Dems can take away his power and he’s off his game. https://t.co/8PGOVKsyKl
My name is Phil Arballo. Today I'm announcing my campaign against Republican Devin Nunes. I'm a Democrat, Latino, Central Valley Native, a father, and a husband -- and I'm going to win. Please visit the link in bio to join us so we can rid California of Trump's #1 stooge.
Democrats in DC say they want unity. They don’t want unity. They want total control. Control of what we say, what we think, and who we support. And they are working in lockstep with Big Tech and Big corporations to silence us. https://t.co/WsY4qKkdoN
What strikes me about @HawleyMO is his utter lack of resilience. Having encountered an obstacle in his plan to run for president in 2024 (which he’s had since 8th grade, according to the Kansas City Star), his answer isn’t to regroup with grace, but to have a complete meltdown https://t.co/XcrKP1pZcR
Trump has now established the "Office of the Former President," which is run by former White House aides and "will be responsible for managing President Trump’s correspondence, public statements, appearances, and official activities" from Palm Beach, Florida.
We are paying for this. The Former President’s Act funds an office and a staff for former presidents. (This benefit is lost if a President’s service in office ends bc of removal due to impeachment, but given how it’s worded this clause may not apply to Trump even if convicted) https://t.co/L6oPan8hxZ
Last I checked, Donald Trump *was* impeached by the House while he was the President. Twice. https://t.co/Zdc2vyDRo2
Also, it’s worth noting that in criminal law, the statute of limitations is the time period in which *charges* must be brought, not for the trial to be completed. It would only make sense that the analogous limitation on the end of term, if any, would apply to bringing articles https://t.co/WNQIKNvNHz
